The case for and against Bruce Brown
As nice as it would be to stick it to the Nuggets and grab an important player, I'm not positive it's worth everything it could cost.
Here we were, heading towards a nice, calm offseason. I wrote about it. Reported on it. Recorded a couple podcasts about it. Accepted it. Sure, in the back of my mind, questions about running back a team we just saw swept in the Western Conference Finals were nagging, but I can live with voices.
Then… Mike Singer fired off a tweet about Bruce Brown and cats left bags. I then did my own digging and, yeah, the Lakers are very interested and have some real confidence they can pull all this off.
Initially, I was all-in. Hell yes, take a critical player from Denver and put him on your roster. Mike Malone sitting there, potentially still hungover, watching one of his favorites finally getting talked about on ESPN because he’s a Laker? Ab. So. Lutely.
But then, because I am who I am… I started to wonder if that was really the smartest path forward. So let’s go through some scenarios.
